Her Real Housewives co-stars voiced their doubt over whether to believe her claims she was abused at the hands of her husband during the filming of their show.
But now Taylor Armstrong, who has spoken at length at the abuse she suffered at the hands of her late husband Russell, has decided to prove cynics wrong.
The reality star, 40, decided to post medical records documenting her injuries to her Facebook page, in a bid to silence those who don’t believe she was battered by Russell before he took his own life.
Taylor tweeted: ‘When a woman says she’s being abused, don’t wait for bruises to appear. Believe her! Help her! Don’t doubt her & call her a liar!’
‘For those who continue to say I’m lying. Ur harming women who suffer n silence making them even more afraid 2 speak up & get help. So I’m releasing my medical records on my FB page in a few minutes.’
She posted a picture of a document from the Beverly Wilshire Advanced Imaging Center dated July 23, 2011 which listed the injuries she suffered to her eye.
Taylor said: ‘Here’s the first record from the imaging center who examined my eye. Despite what the doubters have said, I will say again — this was not an elective, cosmetic surgery.’
However Taylor’s efforts to try and persuade people she is telling the truth caused more controversy from people on Twitter and on fan claimed her actions were an attempt to get income.
*I feel horrible for Taylor. I can’t image what she’s been going through, and the public’s reaction to her clearly shows the strong, hateful backlash against a woman who even claims to have been abused. It’s so easy for people just to dismiss her as a money-hungry reality star, rather than even consider that she was being abused. I admire that she’s still speaking up to raise awareness about victims of domestic violence, despite all the hate. It’s a shame that it came to this.
A woman comes out as...liar. They say she’s doing...for...
